D3.8 – Modelling selected ecosystem service indicators from farm and permanent grassland management data

In this study, farm data from the 2019 survey of 352 farms within task 3.1 of the SUPERG project were used to investigate correlations between various farm characteristics and permanent grassland (PG) management variables of specialised dairy farms in Europe. These correlations were assessed through linear regression and their equations were combined in a synthesis model with the rent charge of PG and the farm size in Utilised Agricultural Area (UAA) as external inputs. The model illustrates how variables are connected and how they determine a number of farm characteristics and PG management options, and was used to calculate indicators of ecosystem service (ESS) delivery.
