Last 1st of April, the Brno University, of the Czech Republic organized a workshop with 18 farmers, at the Research station in Vatín, district Žďár nad Sázavou. In this workshop several topics related with the Permanent Grasslands management were discussed, with presentations from different speakers:
“War at Ukraine and its possible impacts on agrarian trade” presented by Ing. Ivo Zdráhal, Ph.D.; “How does our society perceive permanent grasslands?” presented by Ing. Simona Miškolci, Ph.D.; “Introduction of portable laboratory NIRS for forage quality evaluation a potential of its use at farms” presented by Ing. Jitka Kolomazníková; “Cover crops and soil life. Trends in CAP since 2023” presented by Ing. Marek Podrábský and “Potential of carbon sequestration to the soil regarding grassland management and potential of non-traditional income for farmers.” presented by doc. Ing. Stanislav Hejduk, Ph.D.
These topics gave rise to a broad discussion on the management of permanent pastures in this country, leading to a better engagement between the czech farmers and the SUPER-G project.
