Webinar series: Permanent Grasslands in Europe – Policies, Services and Management

The SUPER-G project is hosting an open access Webinar series in June, to showcase some outputs from the project and contribute to discussions around policy making. Under the theme: Permanent Grasslands (PG) in Europe – policies, services, and management, it aims to engage policy makers, farmer representatives, researchers and students over a course of 3 webinars with a range of expert speakers.

The first of these webinars will take place on the 15th of June, when priorities and services will be discussed with a group of speakers with expertise in research priorities, the delivery of goods and services from permanent grasslands (PG) and farmer priorities and preferences for managing PG.

On the second webinar, which will take place on the 22nd of June, the topics will relate to drivers of change with speakers providing an update on CAP reform, the economic drivers of change in PG and stakeholders’ attitudes towards the public goods and ecosystem services provided by PG. Finally, the third webinar, on the 29th of June, will focus on “policies now and tomorrow”, with invited speakers presenting on the trajectory of EU and national policies around PG; drivers of grassland use intensity in Switzerland and the effectiveness of policies promoting sustainable PG. With this series of webinars, SUPER-G intends to provide its participants with an overview of current thinking around the future of sustainable PG management and policy.
