On an EIP-AGRI brochure related to the sustainable livestock farming, the importance of a strategy for managing permanent pasture was highlighted. Permanent Grasslands represent several benefits for biodiversity, ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration and animal health. The EIP-AGRI brochure “Innovation for farm resilience and profitability” highlights the opportunities for farmers to improve grassland and livestock management in order to promote more sustainable pasture management. It features a number of case studies from Operational Groups and innovative projects from across Europes that are exploring solutions for more sustainable and resilient livestock farming.
The innovations include: strip-grazing herbal leys, digital tools to monitor grazing cows, biodiverse mixtures for quality milk as well as knowledge exchange activities of the Operational Group “Maximum milk from grass”. Click here to read more.
